Back in 1996, when Club-Aphrodite started out as a postal introductions club for swingers, we needed venues in which our members could have swinger parties. We encouraged members to host parties in their own homes but it wasn't until late the following year that we were successful in organizing our first regular venue in non-domestic premises. It was a plush health spa / sauna club in Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire. Situated only ten minutes from J8 of the M1 and less than 30 minutes from London, it was easy to reach from most parts of the southeast and home counties. To start with, the parties were for swinger couples only and took place on Saturday nights every month but after a while we also introduced Friday night parties which allowed a limited quota of unaccompanied males to attend.
